Additional Streams of Income Resources for Georgia

GA Process Servers and Notary Power Session

Thank you to all the participants who attended the Power Session and engaged fully in the activities. We networked, discussed general notary work, and absorbed knowledge about the industry.

We also practiced elevator pitches. The 30 Circle Challenge, an icebreaker designed to encourage creative confidence, was a great way to get everyone thinking outside the box about how our industry can produce various sources of additional income.

In addition to the educational content, the Power Session also included free gifts and good food.

Samantha Smith, GA Notary of the Year, and Vice President of Georgia Notary Network, visited, provided gifts, and invited us to participate in the 3RD Annual GANN Gathering. The event will be held August 24th (online) and 25th in person at Foxhall Resort in Douglasville, GA. The theme of the event is "Where Notarization Drives Economic Mobility!" If you enjoyed the Notary Meet n Greet, you won't want to miss this event. Register today!

The guest speaker, Vanessa Thompson, of AcademyGPPS and owner of iSpy4U LLC of Fayetteville, GA,  gave us a comprehensive overview of the process serving industry in Georgia. She was very informative and honest, and her presentation was well-received by the participants. Mrs. Thompson, provided our guests with a promo code for the required 12 hr GA Process Server Pre-Certification training.

We look forward to seeing you next quarter!

June 26th Notary Meet n Greet

GNW QA and Mock Signings

Guest Presenter Tammie Prieto of Southeast Mortgage, cancelled on us at the last hour, but we were able to go to the network and get Leah Searles of Boss up With Leah, coach, mentor, and  business start up expert. She showed up and went all out with her tutelage. She provided starter kits to our enthusiastic participants and again going the 2nd mile, Leah provided our guests with a discount code to The Notary Academy. Not to brag but if Work-Life-Balance was a group of people, it was definitely us.  We completed the day with good eats and selfies at our host site Love My Selfie of McDonough, GA.

Notaries and Estate Planning

Gwen Walker, Estate Planning Attorney

We had such a great time in June, I decide to reach out again to the network. This time, we had Attorney Gwendolyn Walker to come to speak with us about Estate Planning documents that we as notary professionals and as individuals with families need to understand to prepare for our future generations. Several attending notaries are now on the rolodex of Attorney Walker to accommodate her with client signings. Several attendees won gift cards and a copy of Bill Soroka's book, Sign and Thrive: How to Make Six Figures As a Mobile Notary and Loan Signing Agent.

We touched on the topics of What is estate planning exactly? What are the types of documents? What documents require notarization and which are suggested documents? The importance of the witness for documents and what info do you really need? Notarizing a trust vs regular documents? Completing codicils for wills? How do notaries align with estate planners to gain business as a notary? and What do you look for in a notary?

As notaries, we are not able to advise clients but we are responsible for understanding the requirements to make documents valid in the our commissioned state.
